Cathy's Poetry

If I Were in Charge of the World

If I were in charge of the world
I’d cancel trawling fishing,
Dolphin and whale hunting,
Wars and crisis,
Violence and also
Poverty.

If I were in charge of the world
There would be no more than 5 plastic bags to one person,
No abuse of any sort, and
The rights for men and women in all countries to go to school, be fed, have shelter, clean air, freedom and have control of their life.

If I were in charge of the world
There would be no hunger,
No sadness,
No loneliness,
No forced choices,
No anger,
No distress and also
No sickness.

If I were in charge of the world
All diseases would have a cure,
There would only be one factory every thousand cubic meters,
Marine life would have one-half of the ocean where humans were not to touch,
Animals would have one-half of the land humans were not to touch and
Everything would have a way to be recycled or reused.
